NEW YORK (January 27, 2023) – SevenRooms, a guest experience and retention platform for the hospitality industry, is honored to be Certified™ by Great Place to Work®. The prestigious award is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at SevenRooms. This year, 95% of SevenRooms employees stated that the company is a great place to work – 38 points higher than the average U.S. company.
Taking a people-first approach to benefits and building a world-class culture top the list of reasons that SevenRooms is a great place to work. Only a few years ago, the entire SevenRooms team could fit in a single conference room. Today, the company has a global workforce with offices in New York, London, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong. In 2022, SevenRooms launched its Fresh Start program which offers all new hires their first two weeks of employment as paid time off. To-date, 100% of new hires have used Fresh Start, taking part in a variety of activities including a wine certification course, traveling to see family and friends and more. The company also introduced 7R&R which is a tenure-based PTO program that requires employees to schedule 5 consecutive days of paid time off during the first half of the year and another 5 consecutive days of paid time off in the second half of the year. In 2022, 95% of full-time employees used this benefit to rest and recharge.
In addition to Fresh Start and 7R&R, SevenRooms pairs its unlimited PTO plan with benefits like monthly recharge days, ‘Roomies Choice’ stipends offering every employee $150 a month to spend on whatever they choose (childcare, home office set-up, dining out, a vacation), plus an additional $150 stipend to spend quarterly at SevenRooms restaurant and hotel partners.
“At SevenRooms, our culture starts and ends with our people and we are honored to be certified as a Great Place to Work®.,” said Paul McCarthy, Chief People Officer at SevenRooms. “Our people-first approach to business means that in order to hire the best people in the world, we need to offer them the most valuable asset we have: time. Time is precious and has real value, whether you earn it or you give it away. Fresh Start and 7R&R are just two examples of how SevenRooms gives our employees time back to rest and recharge and do whatever is most meaningful to them. I’m excited to continue finding new ways to support our employees and building a great place to work for all.”
Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.
“Great Place to Work Certification™ isn’t something that comes easily – it takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work. “It’s the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture. Earning this company designation means that SevenRooms is one of the best companies to work for in the country.”
According to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace. Additionally, employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
